Brian Eno Calls On Public Help to Get Together for Palestine Track to UK Christmas No 1.

A charity drive is aiming to launch a cultural melody to the Christmas number one spot. The project aims to send support to people in Gaza while also showcasing Palestinian cultural expression.

A Chance for Support and an "Unlikely Coup"

Musician and artist Brian Eno, who performs on the track, stated that the song titled Lullaby represents a chance to show solidarity with Palestinians during the holidays. He acknowledged the potential for an unexpected chart success.

“It would be fantastic if that happened, yes,” he stated. “I wouldn't be completely disappointed if it doesn’t, festive releases are a unique phenomenon.”

Resilient Spirit of Self-Determination

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who features in the reimagining of a folk song called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the piece's resilient spirit.

“The song holds a deeply meaningful spot for a lot of people,” Barghouti said. “It’s basically saying that I would rather die in dignity than spend my life without freedom. That’s the main theme of the song; we want to live a life of dignity that we deserve as Palestinians.”

Recording Origins and Contributing Musicians

The track was produced in the wake of a major charity concert held in September. Originally intended to be captured during the live event, the performance was cut from the show due to the event running long.

The diverse array of musicians contributing to Lullaby encompasses a selection of well-known figures from the scene. All participated in the September show, which reportedly raised a substantial amount for relief efforts.

Final Touches and Availability

Lullaby was brought to life by a group of music creators. The single features a fusion of the traditional Arabic lyrics with contemporary English verses.

The team running the project have stated that their objective is to generate maximum funds for a dedicated fund. These resources will be distributed to Palestinian causes through an non-profit partner.

“There is no a specific target,” a figure explained. “We will pursue the maximum achievable. Naturally, the higher the total, the greater the impact. It all goes out to the people of Gaza.”

The reality in the region was noted for its widespread damage, with a overwhelming percentage of property described as in ruins or severely impacted.

“Against that backdrop, a handful of millions doesn’t make a massive dent. But I think the significant factor is first of all spreading knowledge of this plight and proving there’s another side to the story.”

The track is launching this Friday. Additionally, a full recording of the benefit event will be made ready to watch on a major video platform from later in the month.
