The British government is prepared to move forward with using the full worth of frozen Russian holdings to support the Ukrainian war effort, PM Sir Keir Starmer has declared.

In a shared declaration, the officials of the Britain, the French Republic, and the Federal Republic of Germany asserted that this joint measure would heighten pressure on Moscow's head Vladimir Putin and persuade Moscow to participate in talks.

They added that the decision would be executed in close cooperation with the America.

British restrictions have frozen over £25bn of Russia's funds since Moscow launched its full-scale invasion against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. However, until now, funds allocated to Ukraine using Russian holdings had solely been drawn from earnings and returns earned on them.

Sir Keir told Ukraine's leader Volodymyr Zelensky that the Britain, France, and the Federal Republic of Germany were united in their goal to advance efforts toward employing the complete amount of the immobilized Russian sovereign holdings to end the war.

He stated that further restrictions soon would heighten the tension on the Russian government.

This announcement follows European Union representatives met in Copenhagen previously to consider using seized Russian holdings for a 140-billion-euro loan to the Ukrainian nation.

Last month, US President Donald Trump encouraged G7 allies to seize or otherwise use frozen Russia's holdings, based on news outlets.

The total of seized Russia's assets in the European Union is assessed to be nearly €211bn.

Moscow carried out extensive missile and drone strikes across Ukraine on that day, resulting in electricity outages in many areas of the capital city, the city, and eight other regions.

While praising the United Kingdom's firm backing for Kyiv, he said it should demonstrate clearly that it would engage in the initiative, as well as enforce further measures on Moscow.
