David Walliams lost his contract with publishing house.
Prolific children's author and entertainer David Walliams has been dropped by his UK book publisher, according to an announcement.
An official for the firm stated: "After careful consideration, and following the appointment of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing future works by David Walliams."
It has been reported that the conclusion was taken subsequent to an inquiry regarding reports of conduct deemed unsuitable towards young women.
The firm did not confirm the specific rationale behind the move, noting: "We refrain from speaking about confidential company decisions."
A Prolific Writing Journey
Walliams ranks among Britain's most prolific writers for young readers, having sold in excess of 60 million copies internationally in dozens of tongues.
His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins back in 2008.
Some of his titles, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as small-screen adaptations.
To date, he has released over four dozen titles altogether, including a Christmas book titled *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins in October.
A Dual Career
He first rose to fame on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was awarded an OBE back in 2017 honoring his contributions to the charitable sector and arts community.
This development follows the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO this past October.
