Hulu to Bring a Far Cry TV Show from the Producers of the Alien Series and the Comedy Hit.

The most recent action-packed instalment that players dived into was Far Cry 6, which featured Giancarlo Esposito as the antagonist, Antón, and came out back in October 6, 2021. As a series, it has a reputation for celebrating violence and mayhem with equal enthusiasm, all while telling engaging, socially charged tales. It’s no surprise that the network’s recent announcement for a Far Cry limited-run show attracted two producers whose creations have embodied all of those elements.

About the Series

Based on Ubisoft's popular video game series, the self-contained anthology series will stream on Hulu and is being made by FX Productions. The show will also follow the video games' format by having a new setting and cast of characters in each season.

Creative Minds

Rob Mac, mastermind of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the talent behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will work as executive producers on the series through their companies, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be accompanied by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

The network enjoyed magnificent partnerships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a combined six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are overjoyed that they are teaming up for Far Cry,” stated Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a statement. “I have no doubt that they will tell this story in a way that is innovative, compelling, and incredibly entertaining. We also want to appreciate our collaborators at Ubisoft for trusting us with this popular property.”

Upcoming Developments

Mac will also feature in the show, but at the time of writing, we are unsure of what part that could be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was recently approved for another season, with FX and Disney signing a new long-term contract with the creator.

“Getting to work alongside Noah Hawley is a fantasy come true,” stated Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been exceptionally generous, placing faith in us with one of the most famous video-game universes ever created. And along the way, my FX partners always encourages me with their constant confidence and assistance.”

“What I love about the Far Cry game collection is that it’s an anthology-style series. Every instalment is a take of a idea, the same way each season of Fargo is a adaptation on a story,” explained Hawley. “To produce a epic action show that can change from season to season, while always delving into the core of humanity through this intricate and turbulent perspective, is a dream come true. I’m eager to partner with Rob and bring our shared unconventional, ambitious approach to the audience.”

A release window for when we can anticipate the new Far Cry show has remains undisclosed. The series will stream on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus globally.
