President Trump Calls Families of Shot Guard Members to the White House

President Trump announced on the weekend that he has extended an invitation the relatives of a Guard member tragically killed last week to attend the presidential home.

He noted that he spoke to her family and they were “deeply grieving”.

Information on the Heartbreaking Shooting

Soldier Beckstrom, twenty years old, was lost her life in a violent incident on last Wednesday in Washington DC.

Her colleague, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, is still in the hospital in grave state.

Vigils across the state have been held in their honor.

White House Invitation

The commander-in-chief said he’s talked about a visit to the White House for the loved ones of both soldiers of the state Guard.

“I stated: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a tough thing, arrive at the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to her,” the president addressed reporters. “And likewise with Andrew, recover or not.”

Community Response

Community members came together over the weekend at the high school in the state to honor Sarah.

Both they had been serving with the West Virginia National Guard as part of the president’s government program to assist law enforcement in DC.

Paying Tribute to the Soldier

“Sarah was the type of pupil that teachers hoped for. She behaved with inner fortitude, a bright grin and a optimistic attitude that inspired those around her,” Jarrod Hankins, the leader of Beckstrom’s alma mater, informed the Associated Press. “She was sweet, caring and always willing to help others.”

Memorial plans for Sarah are in the process of planning.

Judicial Actions and Policy Adjustments

Officials have charged a 29-year-old individual from Afghanistan with one count of homicide and charges of attempted murder while carrying a weapon.

The event caused the government to suspend asylum processing and temporarily stop granting entry permits to owners of travel documents.

Status of the Airman

Andrew Wolfe, a resident of Martinsburg, began his service in 2019 and is a graduate of Musselman high school, as reported by the AP.

He is still undergoing care and is “fighting for his life”, West Virginia leader the governor said on Fox News Channel’s The Sunday Briefing.

The state’s top lawyer Pam Bondi stated on Fox News Sunday that she planned to visit the family.

Memory of the Fallen Soldier

Beckstrom, from her hometown, graduated from her high school in June 2023 and joined the military shortly after, working as a MP with distinction, according to the state guard.

“She had a lot of kindness and she certainly had fortitude,” the governor told the crowd at the memorial. “Though her time ended too soon, she has made an impact that’s going to endure.”
