Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 championships have been won on hard surfaces
A revitalized the Russian player won his initial title for over two years with success over Corentin Moutet in the competition final.
The athlete, a former world number one, has experienced a torrid period, managing just a single victory at the major tournaments and experiencing a difficult moment at the US Open.
His unpredictability on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serve in specific - resulted in him falling of the world's top 10 and ultimately splitting with long-time mentor Cervara.
Currently working with his coach and Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually advanced in the last few weeks - peaking in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over opponent Moutet.
This marks Medvedev's initial championship since the Rome competition and maiden on a hardcourt after spring of 2023.
Victory also indicates Medvedev has secured 21 titles at 21 various competitions.
"For the first time I am participating in a tournament with my both daughters at once, so to win a championship is particularly special," said world number 14 Medvedev.
"This championship is in tribute of my child Victoria, because the maiden victory I achieved when my child Alisa was born was for her."
The tennis star, the past champion, had been defeated in his past six championship matches, featuring in the German tournament in the past months.
Medvedev's defensive approach and regular reactions on the tennis court had caused commentators to wonder if his capacity to compete at the top level was concluded.
But the player has made changes in recent weeks, making an effort to advance forward and play assertively, reinforced by an improved serving game.
The champion came back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the difficult Moutet, winning 4 of the concluding five games to gain the advantage.
The pair swapped service breaks in the following set before the challenger, bidding for his initial ATP Tour championship, gained dominance to push for a third set.
Moutet saved four initial opportunities in a competitive deciding set before the Russian secured a break to that score to secure the win.
Appropriately, the winner secured victory with a shot at the front of the court, with Moutet unable to manage a volley after a lengthy match.
